I have lost my mind, neice needed to go out of town and I have her Harl. Great Dane. OMG, I did not know what I was in for. Great dog, just at 120 lbs, my lab and shih tuz are hating me right now:whistle:.

She has more energy and spunk then I can handle. Can't seem to get her to use up all of her energy. Put her in her crate and all she does is cry, can't seem to get her to settle down.

This will be a loooooooooooooong weekend for us. Ready to :otter: already.:lmao:

Do you take her for walks? Dogs like that need lots of exercise. Do you have a fenced in yard? Take her out and play with her. She needs lots of attention and you need to give it to her. Just trying to help! :howdy:

Yeah, Hubby takes my standard poodle with him when he goes on his walks. Even though people think he is a froo froo dog, they still won't approach him, he's friggen huge! :lmao:

I have done all of that, we walked for 30min this am and now she wants play. Shih Tuz she tried to take her on. Little miss Muffin won't take crap from her. She is use to being in the crate until Noon and then until 4pm. So I am trying that right now and it is not working. I put my dogs in the living room and she is in the extra bedroom, hoping she calms down and goes to sleep. First time she has not been kept at her own house.

Just shoot me now.

Great dog and a beauty at that, just as way to much energy then what we are use to.

I had a beautiful Brindle that stood 36" at the shoulders and topped out at 172 lbs.-she, like all Danes are "leaners" and could run like the wind...exercise, exercise, exercise...:buddies:

When she is in the crate til noon...then again til 4pm...is this usually while her owners are working? Maybe she isnt used to being crated with people home?

Well wineo since you are home maybe keep the dog out with you. Maybe she hears you and the dogs in the house and wants to be with you. Maybe another idea might be is take her back to her house and you stay there with her and bring her over to your house to play with your dogs? I know with bruno (shes a saint bernard) if she hears voices in the house and knows we are home she will bark up a storm in her crate til we let her back out. She spends her day out with us and only goes in the crate at bed time.

Thanks for all of the advice, she is calming down now. I guess she is adjusting and we are as well. Just a big change having her here.

She did nap and is now layed on the dining room floor chilling, mine are in their spots for their naps. And, I am off to take mine, been a loooooooong morning are our house.

Thanks again. We will be taking her to the elem. school after they let out to run her this evening.
