Baked Potatoes from the Crock Pot

10 -12 small baking potatoes
aluminum foil

Directions:
1 Stab potatoes with fork.
2 Wrap each in foil.
3 Fill crock pot with potatoes.
4 Cover and cook on High 2 1/2- 4 hours.
5 Do not add water.
6 Cooking time depends on how big your potatoes are.
7 Use your best judgement.
8 It doesn't hurt to cook them for the 4 hours.
9 For large potatoes, cook five to six on Low for 8 to 10 hours and they turn out perfectly.

Couldn't Be Easier Slow Cooker Bread

Ingredients:

.1 tablespoon yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 cup warm skim milk or 1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 whole egg
1/4 cup wheat germ
2 3/4 cups whole wheat flour

Directions:
1 Grease a deep metal or glass bowl or 1 lb coffee can (we use a glass 18 cm Pyrex soufflé dish); turn slow-cooker on high to preheat.
2 Dissolve yeast in water; combine with milk, oats, salt, oil, honey, egg, and wheat germ.
3 Add flour and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
4 Turn dough immediately into bowl or can; cover LOOSELY with foil.
5 In bottom of slow-cooker, place 1/2 cup of water and a trivet or some crumpled foil.
6 Place can or bowl on this; cover and bake on High for 3 hours.
7 Note: sides of bread brown and crisp beautifully, top will slightly brown and be soft to touch.
8 Yield: 1 medium sized loaf of bread.

Rosemary's Original Crock Pot Pizza

Ingredients:

Crust
1 1/2 cups biscuit mix or 1 1/2 cups Bisquick, clone
1/2-3/4 cup water (Enough to make drop dumplings or form a sticky ball)
Sauce and Toppings
1 (16 ounce) jar pizza sauce or 2 cups , homemade sauce
1 -2 cup mozzarella cheese, depending on how much cheese you like
pizza toppings, of your choice (precook and drain any raw meats)
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

Drizzle olive oil on the bottom of the crock then put about one quarter of your pizza sauce on the bottom of the crock. Mix up your crust and spread on top of the sauce to almost touch the sides then cover with the remaining sauce and coat it all over so it sort of swims in the sauce like a giant soft dumpling. Top with cheese and your chosen meat and veggies cover and cook on high for about 2 hours. Enjoy!

Steel Cut Oatmeal for the Crock Pot

Ingredients:
1 cup steel cut oats (DO NOT substitute old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats)
4 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 -3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, prunes, apricots, dates) (optional)
Serve with
milk, to taste sugar, to taste cinnamon, to taste maple syrup, to taste

Directions:
1 Place all ingredients in a 2 quart slow cooker. (If you want to make a smaller amount please use a smaller crock pot or crockette. This won't work in a 6 quart cooker).
2 Cover and cook on LOW 6-8 hours.
3 It might form a "crust" around the outside. Just scrape it down with a spoon and stir.

Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce

"This is an excellent, rich and thick meat sauce. I intend to use it to make lasagna, as well. It makes a large batch, so you need a large slow cooker to make it."

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 medium onion, chopped fine
2 (28 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, with juice
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 bay leaves
5 garlic cloves, pressed
4 teaspoons dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons dried basil
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dried thyme

Directions:
1 Brown meats and onion in a skillet and drain well.
2 Transfer to your crock pot.
3 Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
4 Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
5 Serve over hot spaghetti noodles.

Bacon and Tater Tots Crock Pot Breakfast

1 lb frozen tater tots
1/2 lb diced Canadian bacon
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
6 eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons flour
salt and pepper

Directions:
1 In 4-5 quart crockpot, layer ingredients in order: one third of the tater tots, bacon, onions, green peppers, and cheeses. Repeat layers two more times, ending with cheeses.
2 In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, and flour and beat with whisk or egg beater until combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour mixture over layers in crockpot.
3 Cover crockpot and cook on low for 10-12 hours.

Triple Chocolate Surprise - Crock Pot

Ingredients:
18 1/2 ounces chocolate cake mix
8 ounces sour cream
1 ounce instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup water

Directions:

1 Spray crock pot with non-stick cooking spray or lightly grease.
2 Mix cake mix, sour cream, pudding mix, chocolate chips, oil, eggs and water in bowl by hand.
3 Pour into crock pot. Cover and cook on Low 6 to 8 hours or on High 3 to 4 hours.
4 Serve hot or warm with ice cream and/or whipped cream topping. I like to put 1 or 2 scoops of ice cream on top. Top the ice cream with whipped cream and then drizzle chocolate syrup over all.
