Supposed to keep getting flood tides through Wednesday...after having them the last few days already. It's hell on vehicles...we go through a lot of WD-40.

I thought you said SGI doesn't flood?
I never ever said that...it floods very often and sometimes quite deep (a foot deep in the road at end of our driveway last evening..and looks to be headed to same this evening). My point was only that RAIN has no effect whatsoever on island flooding; its all tidal. In other "mainland" parts of the county, rain can and does cause significant flooding.

Imagine if it was salt and not brackish water.

In way upstate NY vehicles don't last 10 years due to severe chassis rust from salting the roads. They spray the entire underside of the vehicles with an oil based product to help stop rusting.

WD-40? 🤮 Did ya know? They make a sticky lubricant for those submersibles you drive. Maybe if you know someone that works the marine industry, such as boat building, they could steer you to a good product for such land water adventures that occur on your island?

I recommend this stuff that I use in the engine bay of my boat. Sheds water when it gets wet. Great for keeping the under parts of cars and trucks rust free as well. Stays put for a very long time too, even in a watery environment

That's what I was thinking of, couldn't remember the product name. They use it by the gallons.

I buy that stuff by the case!

WD-40 in a garden sprayer is the "prep" used before applying the very expensive Fluid Film.

All that aside; we try very hard to avoid driving in the salt water altogether. SGI can't avoid it...he commutes from off the island.
