The real problem with ships laying off California waiting to be unloaded is the California law that blocks half of the fleet of trucks from being allowed to be used in California.
If this factoid is true why isn't the media all over this.

Well we all know the answer to that question.

Isn’t there oceanfront property in Arizona that a port can be built to avoid all these regulations? Plus there are lots of illegals crossing into Arizona to man the port and drive the trucks. Win win for all!

When people in Arizona would ask us what the navy was doing here, we would give them a dumb founded look and say you mean “you don’t know about the tunnels from the Pacific Ocean”. You’d be surprised at how many actually believed it.

This is what happens when we remove manufacturing from our industry and get everything from Chinese sweatshops. We could easily be a self-contained nation but all the dumb hippies are like, "No, we don't want to do that."

Tying our necessities to a Communist country AND a Marxist state is just asking for it. But remember the nonsensical outcry when Trump vowed to bring manufacturing back? Good grief, you'd have thought he told all the bots to use proper pronouns.

Donald Trump was all for America first.
They got rid of him.

What does that say about who they want to buy from.
Meantime China is taking our money and paying for Aircraft carriers, hand built islands, and a big enough Army to take Taiwan.

This article is obviously complete fiction, look here:

The publicized meeting and White House conference was sold as Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg showing actions they are taking to address delays and congestion across the transportation supply chain in Southern California.

But Buttigieg is on maternity leave, says so right here:

Oh please, he didn’t even make his cheap ties here, Rubio smacked him about it in 2016. He didn’t give two hoots about making things here, that’s why manufacturing never came back.

This all goes back to Clinton and NAFTA, he destroyed probably at least two generations of middle class families and it’s the main reason there wasn’t a third term in 2016 (thank God!).

American manufacturing results in $118 cotton hoodies. American Giant does well, to be sure, but our western lifestyle is quite expensive and the vast majority want stuff made with exploited (read: cheap) labor.

But American manufacturing is here, but generally attracts niche/upscale buyers. I have some American Giant products. They are of fine quality and workmanship and the fit and finish is above average. But be honest: who here will drop 118 bones for a cotton hoodie?

Face it: by and large, we want cheap goods. This is immutable fact.

Edit to add: Even the basic white cotton tee is $50. So now you're at, let's call it $170, for a coffeeshop hipster look. Hell, might as well get their denim jeans too. That'll be a cool $138. Now we're over $300 for the privilege of wearing American-made clothes. And that's just a basic casual wear outfit.

Oh, and we need a pair of draws too. A-G doesn't make them, but ones from another made in America manufacturer will be $28.

People bitch and complain about bringing manufacturing back, but they rarely put their money where their mouth is. Because it's too damn expensive to do so.

But for those of who are willing to put your money where your mouth is, here you go. But buyer beware, I'd hate for you to have to sink so low as to purchase items made in a democrat libtard state.

I'd still like to know if anyone can clearly point to a cause as to why this is happening NOW - and never previously.

I don't buy the crap that Americans just bought too much stuff. This economy is simply not THAT robust that it's happening NOW but never before.

Both parties happily take donations from labor unions.
Yes they do when they are offered, but generally the unions fund the Democrats , don't believe me listen in to a union meeting the officers fund the Democrats despite what the members want Local 26 Washington IBEW is a prime example .
