Greta Thunberg, the Swedish teenage environmental activist, is Time Magazine's 2019 "Person of the Year,” the publication announced on Wednesday.

The 16-year-old Thunberg has gained worldwide exposure for raising awareness of climate change and is now the youngest individual to ever be named TIME’s “Person of the Year.”

I am sure there are many hundreds (thousands) of people more deserving of the title.

In fact my wife is one of them.

:lmao:

I was unaware TIME was still a thing, let alone anyone cared about their "Person of the Year".

Like the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Oscar's LMAO.
What a joke those have become.
I read the post before yours and was thinking of replying pretty much the same thing as you. The NPP being a popularity prize instead of being awarded for it's original intention. What a joke. If barry had any couth, he would have told the committee that he hadn't done anything yet to deserve the award. But not the narcissist in chief.

Hey Uncle Adolf was Time - POTY Once
In the past, TIME's criteria for being man or person of the year was always - who has generated the MOST news this year?
So it didn't matter if that person was Stalin or Hitler or Khrushchev or Khomeini or even Putin (all have been POTY). The reason was, who
made the most news that year?

Lately it's been just - weird. Four of the last eight years, it's been some non-specific group. They've done it before, but I think they're just running out of candidates they want to promote.

I think they should base their selection on a very simple criteria: What person generated the most memes? Based on that, it would have probably been a three-way tie between Epstein, AOC, and Greta. With Hillary and that stupid white cat coming in close behind, of course....

Youngest ever to be named PotY.... TWICE.

Once this year - once in 2006.

You know - when every single person on the planet was named Person of the Year.
