Ground Barking

My beagle/daschund (13 months) has started "ground barking" face down to the ground, on the move the whole time. I've been told it's moles, but it seems that if he sees a bird, he heads to where it was in the yard and ground barks.....anyone have an idea on controlling this? TIA!

It soulds like moles or voles, just hope he keeps barking and not digging them up like my puppy does.

Get rid of the grubs under your lawn and the moles and voles will leave too.

Get a bottle or something plastic with a lid and fill it with some rocks. When he starts barking toss the can close to him and redirect his attention to something else like a toy or a ball.

He's a beagle mix! He's harking! He's on the trail! That's what it sounds like to me anyways. Sounds to me he's just young and still learning to be a good rabbit dog.

I wouldn't use a bottle with rocks. Glass all over the place.
