I hate computers 
As usual, my virus definitions were out of date.
Huntr finally brought home a McAfee virus program to install. He got it from the computer techs at work.
He tells me that the computer guy told him, "just put it in and it'll install" Well, I did that. And it started acting really slow. I asked, "Are you sure they didn't say to uninstall any existing anti-virus?"
"No, no, just install it."
(now all you computer people out there are cringing aren't you.)
I then tried to uninstall the first virus program, but it did something weird.
Anyway, this was last night and I was tired, so I left it and went to bed. At 7:30 this morning I got back to it. I had to reboot, because the kids got to the computer before I did and I don't know what they did, but it was frozen.
2 hours later, it was still trying to boot up.
So, I called huntr and explained the problem. Told him I thought it had to do with there being 2 anti-viruses and asked him to ask the computer tech. Their response was a very politely worded "dur
"
Now you've gotta understand how slow this thing was running. When I went to uninstall all of the anti-virus stuff, I went to "control panel" then "add/remove" It took 45 minutes to open the contro panel and another hour and a half to open the "add/remove" Then the original anti-virus tells me that the uninstall files don't exist.
So, I had to uninstall the new, reinstall the old, so that I would have the uninstall files. Then uninstall the old and reinstall the new. Then go online to allow it to search for updates. I got online for the first time today at 4:30 p.m.
So, who won the election?
