Anyone in the area have a new 04-06 GTO? If so, any reccomendations for mods such as headers? Also, do we have a GTO group down here in SOMD?
Thanks

There aren't many down here. I have a friend who has an 04 with a turbo & a methanol kit. High 10's in the 1/4 mile. Mine runs 13.2.

What a sad story. Had Pontiac brought back the GTO as a retro (ala Mustang or Challenger) body style they might still be around. The GTO has tons of power and is a great car but they screwed the pooch on the body. When I first heard of the Goat coming back, I started saving the pennies but when I saw it I jumped ship to Dodge. We (late baby boomers) are financially able to purchase the muscle car we wanted when we were kids and we want them to look like those 60-70 muscles. Enjoy your Goat it has to be fun to drive!
I will see the owner tonight and ask. The '04 had the factory 350HP whereas my '05 and the '06 have the LS2 engine at 400HP.I'm around the Lexington Park area...I have an 04 with a cold air intake and Glass Packs. How much do the turbos run? and how much hp did it add for his 04?
As a happy owner of a 1968 GTO, the right answer was to upgrade the carburetor. When I did that I was disappointed in the performance. How could a '68 GTO with 98000 miles on it be less than frisky?
Anyway, in recent years I looked at the tinfoil weakling they called a GTO and walked away.
Unfortunately our overseas providers are doing very well.
They certainly could have done a better job on styling and handling and the damn thing is heavy as hell.Hmmm, you do know, in almost every category except cool points, the new GTO exceeds the 68. In every aspect of performance, from going to stopping, and most certainly cornering, and in a crash, the newer model is more proficient. So, as cool as the 68, of course not, but weakling? Not hardly.
And before you bust my cookies, know that I have driven classic muscle cars, and do love them, and have one in the garage now awaiting my time and money to get a bit more free But that love for them doent mean I have to bash the new stuff. Theres room in this world for both.
