Honestly, what else is Steny going to do? He sacrificed his whole life to play politics and get power. He has no other purpose in life, which is really sad but it's hard to feel sympathy for him when he chose that and made a raving buffoon of himself in pursuit.

Yep. And not because he's ignored them (well, any more than he's ignored the rest of the District) but because there are several people waiting in the wings to make the seat a majority minority one.

That's true for any potential Democratic candidate wanting to run in the primary. I would imagine that the Establishment (of which Steny is a member) is shitting tacks right now since Alsobrooks was the anointed one to replace Cardin in the Senate and Trone is ahead of her by double digits. Now before anyone breaks out the noisemakers and confetti he isn't much better and in some ways worse.
