I read a lot of autobiographies by grunts in Vietnam. There are common themes. They buy into the stopping communism and upholding patriotism when they enter boot camp. By their 3rd combat patrol, all that goes out the window. Then it's about self preservation and if possible, saving those in your platoon.

The 1 I'm reading right now the guy is 8 months into his 1 year tour. They patrol an area called the pineapple. They have lost a bunch of people in the last 3 days due to booby traps. Yet they keep sending them out in that area. The commander is overhead in a plane flying around telling them to pick up the speed. While the patrol is trying to make sure they don't get tangled in any trip wires. The level of frustration for the troops is off the charts.

When they get tasked with doing night patrols, they set up near a village where it's relatively safe. They call in their reports as if they are somewhere else. Because they know that by getting killed in the jungle won't matter in the big picture for South Vietnam. They know they will get busted if they are caught, but it's worth the risk.

Fighting a war where the way you keep score is with body counts instead of real estate won certainly was highly misguided. We should have bombed North Vietnam back to the stone ages. Or better yet, don't get involved with other nations' civil wars.

There was stuff about the clinton pedo ring and hollywood saying they have small children abducted so they can rape them and later dispose of them and Epstein Island the Law has the pilots logs of who flew there and there are videos of everything
They dont really care about the money its the POWER they crave..Like telling you to get a shot and wear a mask and they know that nothing will be done and they hope we dont exercise our 2A rights and fight back the media is bought and paid for by these people and they do a good dam job of filling peoples heads with their BS agenda.

Not a chance, his father was a Admiral, hardly someone aboard the Maddox or Turner Joy destroyers. I do think he was skipper of the Midway at one time........ not sure.

Something I wrote elsewhere on Memorial Day about Tonkin Gulf

This still haunts me sometimes to tears, LCDR Lindland, Graustein, Wade and some others were in fact KIA along with those listed.
Lindland was last seen on the ground severely injured fighting the NVA with his sidearm before being killed.
Some I knew, some I have just seen but remember. I saw Cdr Earnest crash to his death in the sea still entrapped in his Intruder , he still lies on the bottom of the Tonkin Gulf, fortunately his BN was able to eject.
Memorial Day is about them, not a race or picnic. So please remember their sacrifice.
