A head's up if you haven't seen the ads in local papers--the Chesapeake Auction House in St. Leonard is having its annual fall gun auction this Saturday, Nov. 5. Doors open at 11, bidding starts at 1 pm. This time they have absentee bidding now up to Saturday morning. You have to register to bid but it doesn't cost anything to throw a bid out there and see what happens. They decided to start everything at $5. (I smell some deals.) But when the live bidding starts who knows what things will sell for. The bad news is Md handgun, black rifle and magazine/clip rules got more strict due to a former Md Democratic governor. But the good news is this auction has blackpowder rifles and revolvers that don't require paperwork. GiGi's gun shop near the auction will handle the paperwork. Call them with questions. The auction's website shows all the guns (and lots of ammo). There still may be time to consign things if you have grandpa's old M1 around the house. Auction number is 410-586-1161.
