Anybody have these? Do they work? Are they worth it? What brand is best or are they all the same? Thanks in advance!

They are too expensive..

We went to Bob Green Siding, they replaced our gutters with new (went from 4 inch to 6 inch, and then asked them how much it would cost to add screens.

So new gutters, installation AND screens (he gave us a choice of 2 or 3, and we bought the most expensive ones) was still less than half of the cost of the Gutter Guard and Leaf Guard.

When we bought our house, it had gutter guards, I tore them off after a month -- they were the type that allowed only a small slit of the gutter to be open.
The guards got clogged up with leaves, and didn't let the actual rain into the gutters -- so basically it made the gutters useless.

But then I had to go on the roof maybe 4-5 times a year and clean out the gutters by hand.

Our elderly neighbor had expensive GutterGuards installed, and she complained that after very expensive install, they would charge her a lot every year for "required" cleaning of GutterGuards.

Second you on that -- once we replaced our old 4" ones with 6" ones, it got much better.

A lot of gutter installers tried to BS us on that, "Oh, 6" ones are only for commercial properties, they would look ridiculous on residential" -- I think they didn't have the equipment/stock to roll out the 6" ones. Once we put ours on, they didn't look any different, but worked much better.

That stinks (having to go on roof). I just want to make sure of getting a good brand of guard that works

That part I didn't mind. If you can't, do you have teenagers in the neighborhood who will do it for some money?

They call me ... Sarcasmo
When our house was built, they put standard residential 4" gutters. They look good and are in proportion to a home BUT, we have a 9:12 roof with a metric shiat ton square footage. I have filters in my gutters now but they are just delaying the inevitable switch to 6".

I have installed several different brands/types over the years & have discovered:
They ALL get blocked up with pine needles, maple "helicopters", & oak pollen bunches
And it actually makes it a bigger pain in the ass to clean your gutters, because NOW you have to pick stuff out of the gutter guards.

Now I just use leaf blower to clean them out, as well as the entire roof

I have a husband who will do it for free ;) but I like to keep him off the roof if possible. It makes me nervous. Even though he's a bricklayer and is on roofs quite often (chimneys and stuff). But.......we're not getting any younger.

Yeah, we have gutter helmet and they do a good job most of the time...HOWEVER when we replaced the shingles several years later, the roofers said they had to remove them and really didnt want to void our warranty on the helemets...

Okay, I called GH in AA County, (I recommended them to several homeowners by the way)..A punkass kid came out and said it would be $800 remove before and re-install after the roofers left. I called the office to speak with a manager. "Take it or leave it BUDDY,"I was told... Just food for thought.

that's where we were at.. HUGE cape roof, 4 inch gutters.. Hard rain, gutters may as well not have existed.. Waterfalls in fhe front of our porch, and into our basement access/ stairs.

Greetings: Once you put the 6" gutters on....did you also install some type of guard?

After I bought my house I was finding myself on a ladder every time it rained so i needed new gutters anyway and had gutter helmets put in, they work excellent.

On my mom's house, she has less trees than I do I put these on it https://guttershed.com/

They are easy to retrofit and work better than anything I tried by a wide margin. I found them at her local Ace hardware.

I've put 6" gutters on every house I've ever built around 20 of them . Got the same input on all of them you don't need them . BULLSHIT they work much better but you have to watch how they connect the downspouts to them. They have to have the connection hole larger for them to drain properly. Steves custom fit gutters in Calvert is the best gutter company I have ever worked with hands down !
