Does anyone have experience pro or con using a halti collar/leash? In need of a different option to walk him without my back being strained.

TIA

Halti is the best. I have a 75lb Basset that my wife would have no hope of controlling without it.

Halti works great. It takes a awhile for you and the dog to get used to. We can walk our girl with one finger now as opposed to 2 hands.

I use the Gentle Leader but it's the same premise as the Halti. :yay:

Just a bit of advice...let them get used to it before you take them for a walk.

Haven't used a halti, but I do concur with Cat on gentle leader harnesses.

the first couple of times you use it it might feel like you have a giant fish on the end of the line

If you have a large-sized dog, I think I still have a couple of Gentle Lead collars hanging around the house. You are welcome to them if I can find them.

We use a plastic prong collar. It does not hurt him and he likes it much better than a Halti or GL. he actually comes to us to have it put on, unlike the other 2 options. where he would not come near us if we brought it out.

He's been through basic obedience and I use a metal prong collar and he still pulls unless I am constantly correcting him. He's going through his teenager dog period and is just as boneheaded right now.

Thanks everyone for your input.
