The nice folks at SOMD.COM just sent an email birthday greeting to the St. Mary's County Camera Club! I was so preoccupied with making arrangements for my WIFE's birthday, that I forgot it's also the CLUB's birthday! Six years ago tonight, on my wife's birthday, we kicked off the new camera club and got over 40 visitors at that first meeting. It's been a blast (and a lot of work) and membership is now running around 70. We've seen some GREAT photography, have been amazed at the talent of many members (pro and amateur alike), and have been treated to great lectures, shows and workshops. It's been a great six years.
Thanks to all the people who worked hard to make it so, and the media and websites who have (for free) made our existance known to the community.
