At Easter my Mother always had a new hat to wear and dressed herself up for Mass.
Remember when women wore hats to Mass? Men wore suits. and kids got all dressed up.
Times have changed. But I wish everyone a Happy day.

I remember veils then a huge dinner at grandmas at 2, Easter was hard to predict sometimes a beautiful spring day, sometimes snow warnings! Loaded up the new 6 cyl 2 tone (maroon and white) 2 door 55 Belair and off we went!

Granny was from Sicily..... Lasagna, pizza, sausage, home made canoli, ham, veggies I wouldn't touch, nuts and fruits, you name it.... it was there.

One of my friends family did the lasagna thing every Thanksgiving.

Seemed weird when I was a kid, but after years of turkey, I think it would’ve been a nice change.

It was a mainstay along with the turkey, they was always 30 0r 40 aunts, uncles and cousins there. Family of 6 sisters all speaking Italian when they didn't want us to understand. LOLOL. The uncles all playing poker downstairs. The following week at someone else's house.

Yup, Gunther, Arrow 77, Boh......... whatever rot gut was on sale I guess. Even though I was a kid I was the duty stand in at 12 years old for when one of them had to make a piss break. Nickle, dime quarter and if I raised........ they folded LOLOL.
