Saw this on TV this morning...

There is a place were American flags fly 24/7 and no lighting is used as is required by law; however, the flying of these flags is not in violation of the law. Where are they?

Yes. Al of the moon landings took place on the bright side of the moon which always faces the Sun.

There is a ceremony at the Helen Veterans Memorial in Helen Md tonight at 6:30pm, Living Rosary and Flag raising.

There is also, at the government center lawn in leonardtown:
Twenty-first Annual "Pause for the Pledge." The Flag Day activities will begin at 6:00 p.m. with entertainment, color guards, refreshments provided by the Seventh District Optimist Club and a flag ceremony, culminating with the "Pause for the Pledge" at 7:00 p.m.

But wasn't there only one flag planted on the moon (20 July 1969)? So how can your question read "flags"?

He never said they were ever in the dark.. (lunar eclipse?) but said they flew 24/7 without lighting..

And this was one of those questions on a promotion or awards board..

Like how many trucks on an Army base?

Flags were planted at all of the landing sites.

Hi Ken......
I remember the planting of the first and watched all of the others that were televised but don't recall any more flags. I do remember the golf shot though.

One, it is the ball that sits atop the main flagpole, usually in front of the HQ's building..

AND the Truck represents the "Shot Heard Around the World" fired 19 April 1775 at Lexington, Massachusetts.

If dropped it breaks into 13 pieces..

It contains, a razor blade to cut the flag from the halyard, a matchbook with a single match to destroy the flag and prevent capture, a penny to insure the US would never be broke, and a single .45 round to take your own life to prevent capture....

That was the answer to be given.. in truth, the truck is the pulley at the top of the flagpole.. not the ball.. and of course the ball doesn't really contain anything.

Hi Tony.....

Now, you got me wondering so I had to be sure, I did some checking. I was able to find pics from Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16, & 17 showing flags. Apollo 13 didn’t plant one for obvious reasons.

These are links to NASA’s Apollo archives…..
