The moon..awpitt said:Saw this on TV this morning...
There is a place were American flags fly 24/7 and no lighting is used as is required by law; however, the flying of these flags is not in violation of the law. Where are they?
Isn't it always daytime there where they are planted?itsbob said:The moon..

But wasn't there only one flag planted on the moon (20 July 1969)? So how can your question read "flags"?awpitt said:Yes. Al of the moon landings took place on the bright side of the moon which always faces the Sun.
He never said they were ever in the dark.. (lunar eclipse?) but said they flew 24/7 without lighting..desertrat said:Isn't it always daytime there where they are planted?
Well, just how many trucks are on an army base? :shrug:itsbob said:He never said they were ever in the dark.. (lunar eclipse?) but said they flew 24/7 without lighting..
And this was one of those questions on a promotion or awards board..

I remember the planting of the first and watched all of the others that were televised but don't recall any more flags. I do remember the golf shot though.awpitt said:Flags were planted at all of the landing sites.
Hi Ken......
One, it is the ball that sits atop the main flagpole, usually in front of the HQ's building..BadGirl said:Well, just how many trucks are on an army base?

Hi Tony.....
Thanks Tony, I just never remembered seeing them. Unless it was all done in studio.awpitt said:Now, you got me wondering so I had to be sure, I did some checking. I was able to find pics from Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16, & 17 showing flags. Apollo 13 didn’t plant one for obvious reasons.
These are links to NASA’s Apollo archives…..
