You have to format the new drives and then load your OS onto them and then transfer whatever you need from the old 80 gig. I assume you know about setting masters and slaves and such for the IDE's. set your 80 gig as a slave and boot up with the new HD with the new OS on it. transfer everything you need from the old drive and tada your done...

The easiest thing to do is simple. First off SATA doesnt require jumpers for master or slave. There are CHANNELS.....
What you can do is just hook your sata hard drive up, fdisk it, and copy all your "data" onto that drive.
Then unplug the sata drive, do a FRESH wipe, and keep the ide 80 gig as your main drive for your o/s and any programs you wish to install. Use the 250 gig drives as storage
Problem solved... next time ask a computer geek like SAHRAB or chess
