Harris Teeter Pharmacy

I've had it with CVS, I'd have thought a large chain would have lower prices but isnt the case. I found their prescription prices to be way higher than the local pharmacy at my moms for her pills. One pill at the local pharmacy at her house was $36, transferred to CVS here and it was over $300.

I get most of her pills at her local pharmacy when we are at her house, but one was prescribed here so it's just easier to get it filled here, CVS was over $300, they dropped it to $88 with good RX. This time I had it sent to Harris teeter, even with no discount it was $115, then with the discount card it was only $14.48.

So if you dont have drug coverage I suggest trying Harris Teeter pharmacy.

I can't stand CVS and dumped them years ago after they refused to fill a pain med, prescribed from the hospital. I had to go back to the hospital pharmacy to have it filled. I've been with Family Care ever since then. Very happy with them.

I talk to the pharmacist at my moms community pharmacy all thr time, he told me he use to work at CVS, people would drive in from 45 minutes away because they got a text telling them they had a prescription to pick only to get there and there was no prescription. The local CVS has nothing to do with the texts they send, he said it was one of the reasons he quit and opened up his own pharmacy.

The thing I think is crazy is moms hometown of 10k people has three independent pharmacies, aWalgreens, a CVS, a Target, Kroger, and Walmart pharmacy. Why dont we have more independent pharmacies with all the people in the area?

Wow. I'd be pissed. I was with St. Johns Pharmacy until CVS took it over.

My wife's insurance for us ties us to CVS.
Sometimes the prescription gets held up because it is not on the insurance company's approved list.
I had that happen with a med I was to get after my hospital stay in February.
I presented the Good RX card the patient advocate gave me, along with an alternative.
Turned out the alternative was covered by our insurance.

My dog and I use the pharmacy at Weis. I may pay a little more being a smaller operation, but the convenience completely outweighs the cost.

I gave up CVS because they tried to control my meds. I constantly told them to remove me from all auto-refill, auto-contact-the-doc, etc... I told them in person, via texts, called the main CVS corp number, but they still after years insist on not heeding my requests, so I moved over to WalMart. It was getting so the refills were pushed so far to the left I was getting refills months before I needed them.

However, 2 of the 3 meds I get are now much more expensive at WalMart than they were at CVS. But a small price to pay for telling them to kiss off.

Amazon has just started a pharmacy service too. The great thing about theirs is you can see the prices ahead of time in their app.

CVS is terrible. They gave my friend the wrong heart medication one time. I had a lot of problems with them too. When my insurance changed, thank God I don't have to use CVS anymore. I now go to a small, locally owned Pharmacy in Leonardtown. The best customer service I've ever had.

Wonder why kookoo deleted her anti Amazon rant. It's the only place I know of that let's you know the drug prices before you send your scripts there.
