Wider bridge, not enough hang time to make the edge? There seems to be a dead bird every couple of feet when you cross the bridge. I think I registered it leaving MD but really noticed it coming back.
I never noticed birds flying around that could be hit by cars but I do not go that way very often.
That's my thought too. Different location, different height... the birds have their fly patterns disturbed. They used to fly under the old bridge, but this one is lower.
From a Google Search: Remarkably, even juvenile long-haul travelers know where to go, and birds often take the same routes year after year. How do they find their way? Migrating birds use celestial cues to navigate, much as sailors of yore used the sun and stars to guide them. There should have been an Environmental Impact study. I bet there wasn't one. There seems to be a dead bird every couple of feet when you cross the bridge. I think I registered it leaving MD but really noticed it coming back.

Spend more money for useless $hit. There should have been an Environmental Impact study. I bet there wasn't one.
Sounds like the impact study is currently being conducted.Spend more money for useless $hit.
You must be a Democrat.
Emphasis on 'impact'.Sounds like the impact study is currently being conducted.
Sorta a "thud" sound...I'm guessing.Emphasis on 'impact'.
I don’t have the measurements, but this pic (and other pictures I saw during construction) seem to show the new span pretty similar in height to the old span. They used to fly under the old bridge, but this one is lower.
It is useless when they don't know how to apply what they find. Or, they don't want to because of politics or other factors. It is also useless when they use study after study without doing anything about it. On the TJ bridge I have seen the seagulls fly about the same height as I am driving many times.Spend more money for useless $hit.

My favorite baseball replay!
