I can't, and won't, argue against what he said. The left turn league needs to look at different directions. I find it generally boring, especially the G/W/F format that is rarely NOT the ending.

I learned something here: two companies own 35 of the 38 race tracks where the races are run. Anti-Trust, anybody?

Road Atlanta and Mid-Ohio could both draw big crowds if they hosted a Cup race. VIR has hosted the NASCAR K&N series for the last two years on its North Course and interest is growing but VIR is not capable of holding as many spectators as RA or Mid-O. VIR once hosted non NASCAR sanctioned races with many NASCAR drivers and VIR has been hosting road course testing days for years. (check Harvick's VIR videos on youtube) Also do double weekends at some tracks. Run the Pocono triangle on a Friday night (make it shorter--maybe a 200 mile) then reconfigure and have them run the next day or night on the IMSA course (2/3s of the NASCAR track with some esses in the infield to make it interesting and separate skilled crew chiefs and drivers form those that aren't. I don't mind that "stock cars" haven't been stock in decades but what I hate is that all the big teams have to have a whole fleet of highly specialized cars--Id like to see a goal of at most a oval track car and a road course type car or ideally one car that could be set up for any track. I've met guys at road course tracks that drive older Busch series cars or older Late Model cars that did/can run on both types of tracks.

BTW--Summit Point Raceway (less than a three hour drive with traffic) is hosting SCCA Majors racing this weekend. The Feature races are Sunday. Yesterday while flagging at Turn 3 during qualifying rounds I watched a 15 year old german kid set a track record in Formula Atlantic and a Corvette set a track record in GT2 class. Actually--they aren't track records because they weren't during races.
