Hokay...sorry to drag this up after it's been peaceful for a few months, but...
as someone who had the opportunity to use Harvard's Malkin athletic center shortly after this announcement, and someone pretty familiar with Harvard policies for students, I can tell you that it is not only Muslim students who receive special treatments at this school whenever they are requested. Colleges like this that have the opportunity to keep students content whenever they can, will.
Example: Yale University dormitories require electronic swipe cards, Prox Cards, to enter residential buildings from the outside. Shortly after I received many of my early registration papers, I also received a letter from the Jewish Students Organization (and I am not Jewish, they sent it to every student), asking me to send notification if, as an Orthodox Jew, it was against my religion to use electronics on the Sabbath, in which case they arranged for a special lock system for every Orthodox Jewish student to enter their buildings without fear of divine retribution. Tell me that isn't accomodating. I was told that Harvard also acknowledged a request last year from a Women's Christian Values (promoting modesty, etc.) student group that they not have to witness students of the opposite sex in inappropriate clothing within their own dormitory - Harvard set off a special floor in one of the upperclassman dorms for these kids so they wouldn't have to see guys in boxer shorts walking up and down the stairs early in the morning. Again with the accomodation.
