...used any means to draw animals in to shoot (photograph)

I have heard some people use small stuffed mice and a call with a few hundred feet of fishing line in a field to draw in owls and hawks...I have never tried this...I'd be worried about them grabbing it and having the fishing line still there causing a hazard. I also heard that it's illegal unless used by biologists, etc.

I know Raptors are plentiful out there, but has anyone tried anything like this, bird seed or anything. I rarely sit still unless at a nest...otherwise Ima justa walkin'.

I have never heard of bating in Owls, and it does kinda sound like there is a risk of it getting the mouse and tangled in the line. I have heard of people putting out deer carcases to attracked Eagles and other animals.

Just go to the pet store and buy about 3 dozen mice and start the calls and let the mice go.

I have never quite figured out how the guys on Fred Miranda's website get such great shots of Owls.

Maybe you can ask this question over there.
