Checkpoint was set up by the Star of the Sea church and everyone leaving the Island was stopped. This was about 13 years ago. I had to get out of the car and do the tests. I admitted to having drinks and I am sure I smelled of alcohol.I haven't either been pulled over and asked to do a sobriety tests so I don't know either. I guess I'll ask...
So cops...what are the grounds for a sobriety test? Do you need probable cause?
So everyone else...if you've been pulled over and asked to do a sobriety test, was it out of the blue or did they have good reason to do it?
Thanks!
AH ha. So you're toppick. I keep them up to remind people of what an ass you/he is. I don't buckle under pressure. Why don't you start by taking your siggy's down? All that does is add fuel for the attention.......plus, why don't you leave the molesting of children out of this.....that is plain sick!

Was your jaw sore after?Checkpoint was set up by the Star of the Sea church and everyone leaving the Island was stopped. This was about 13 years ago. I had to get out of the car and do the tests. I admitted to having drinks and I am sure I smelled of alcohol.
I finally ended up blowing 6 and was told to drive home safely.

OMG the sound of his teeth toching the curb :shudder:this
Define 'wrong'. In my view, that would be serving and protecting the public good. In the view of the departments legal staff, that may be just about the most wrong thing they've ever heard of.I have a question. Is it wrong for a police officer to give someone who has had too much to drink a ride home instead of arresting them?
I would say thank you!I have a question. Is it wrong for a police officer to give someone who has had too much to drink a ride home instead of arresting them?
Is not serving and protecting getting the person off of the road? It's a traffic violation.Define 'wrong'. In my view, that would be serving and protecting the public good. In the view of the departments legal staff, that may be just about the most wrong thing they've ever heard of.
Glad you touched on that, because I have heard similar accounts and I think it's ridiculous. :guiltyuntilproveninnocent:I've been pulled over for not dimming my headlights, and that resulted in "please blow in my hand" which resulted in "Please step out of the car!"
According to the cop, not dimming your headlights is a sign of impairment.. the smell of mint on my breath was a sign of drinking (huh?? basically NOT smelling alcohol on my breath was a sign that I had been drinking).

Cops expressed surprised I was conscious
I said "f@cking A mannot only awake but driving"
They replied "not very well, that's why we pulled you over."

I don't get how that is guilty until proven innocent. Are the cops not supposed to look for normal factors and do further investigation? Some indicators of an impaired driver are trying to mask the smell of alcohol with a mint. Forgetting to turn bright lights down. Along with an array of other things.Glad you touched on that, because I have heard similar accounts and I think it's ridiculous. :guiltyuntilproveninnocent:
