Hazmat team returned to service, it's a small spill, some ventilation and some absorbant will do the trick here.

Just going by what has been posted, most sump pumps are in the basement along with the water heater. My house has natural gas and therefore heated by an open flame and gas fumes would not react nicely.

Who's the dummy that brought gasoline into a dwelling?

How would you get gas out of the pit? Most home pumps are not rated for flammable liquids transfer.
