The heat and oppressive humidity has returned to our region after a brief respite over the weekend, but another cooling trend is in the extended forecast. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the entire abc7 viewing area through 8pm Tomorrow, as we"re expecting a high temp of 97, but when you factor in the humidity, it"ll feel like 100-115 degrees. Temps should cool a little bit on Wednesday, but we should still break the 90 degree mark. A cold front is currently developing over the mid-section of the U.S. and will move towards our area over the next few days. This front is expected to move through our metro area Wednesday night and should trigger scattered thunderstorms, but just as importantly, this front will drastically cool us down for Thursday through the weekend. Highs on Thursday should be in the lower 80s with low humidity levels, and the cooler, more comfortable weather should last through the weekend.
