Heat Surge: As seen on TV

I wanna be a SMIB

We have one, hubby loves it but Im not a big fan. Keeps you roasty toasty if you sit right in front of it. the first month my electric bill went up 15.00, this month it went up another 20.00. We still need to run the furnace, maybe not as much but you still need it. Once its warm from the furnace, then the heatsurge helps keep it warm, sorta. If youre expectin g this thing to do all the heating, it wont work.

We had gotten one, it left a less than a week later. It didnt seen to heat all that well and it was very small, looked stupid every where we put it. You can buy a hearth to sit it on, but it just doesn't look good.

For some reason I am very perceptive about most TV commercials. Did any of you notice that there is a serious flaw in it? Did you notice how the Dad had to go over and feel the heat? That tells me that it isn't really that powerful. If it was, he wouldn't have to bend down to feel it.
I really think that, today, almost everything on the market is junk. If people really watch carefully, there is an easy "see" in all of these products. You watch as they say their product does "this" in seconds and then the camera shot changes. This is an easy "see" that the product does NOT work that fast or at all. Buyer beware is a must these days. I've bought a few electronic products after seeing them on the shelf or the internet and returned them the next day. Sad, isn't it?

As my dad says, we live in a throw away society.... Sears sent me a crushed stepper and assured me another item would be in tomorrow and I got a call saying it has been delayed... Customer service and quality are seeming like a thing of the past!

Yep, and if you go around your house and start looking at your possessions, you will find just about everything is 'Made in China.'
Kind of scary, really.

I wonder where the working components of this heater thing are manufactured. I'm all for locally-made stuff, be it from the guy down the street or from the west coast. The lure of cheaper items is undeniable - sometimes irresistable - but considering that you typically have to replace them more frequently, such items often prove to cost more than they save.

Did they speak English? That's another reason for the stinking service and lack of quality!
