Heating Oil and kerosene prices

What are average prices for heating oil these days? I bought 5 gallons of kerosene for my Salamander heater for my garage last night and it was $5.00 per gallon. That is crazy. I moved a few years ago and don't use heating oil any more. At what price are the oil companies raping their customers this year?

Off-Road Diesel is $3.589 at the gas station closest to my house. I ordered #2 Heating Oil last Friday for something like $4.03, or maybe it was $4.05 (non-agreement price).

Petro was the supplier when we purchased this house so we have just stuck with them. Looks like I will be pricing around when our contract is up next year.

Hmm, I paid 3.74 today and that is auto deliver taken out of my acct. monthly at a supposed discount. I think I need to call them. Maybe internet is the same deal.

how much heating oil does everyone use for their house? and approximately how big of a house? i got topped off yesterday and the bill was higher than i thought it was going to be. 100 gallons.

What the heck?? What on earth could explain that?...heck I'd just as soon burn the diesel anyway.

Have not ordered any yet this year (two 250-gallon tanks) and as mild as its been, won't have to order any probably until mid January. Fingers crossed the price does not climb.

I have the pellet stove going all the time, so my oil usage is minimal. I went 3 years without getting a delivery, and then only needed 150 gallons in a 500 gallon tank.
