Helen Keller Was FAKE

A man purporting to be a U.S. history teacher noted in a now-deleted TikTok video several of his Gen Z didn’t know who Adolph Hitler was and believed that disabilities advocate Helen Keller was a “Nazi.”

In addition, one student believed that “D-Day,” — the June 6, 1944, Allied invasion of Europe during World War II — was a rap artist.

At the start of the video, the teacher asked his middle-school students if they knew of Keller (above, in 1905), who lost her sight and hearing after suffering an illness at the age of 19 months.

“Helen Keller is the Nazi guy,” said one. “He’s like a terrorist.”

The stunned teacher said in response, “Helen Keller is a Nazi terrorist that is a male. Is that what you’re telling me right now? Are you thinking of Hitler?”

“Who’s Hitler?” asked another student.

Obviously taken aback, the teacher attempted to explain that Hitler rose to power as a dictator in Germany as head of the Nazi party who was responsible for starting World War II in Europe and exterminating more than 6 million Jews.

But before he could finish his explanation, another student interjected to say that Keller was a falsehood.

“Helen Keller was the blind and deaf person who was fake — she didn’t exist but everyone believes she was deaf and blind,” said the student.

I was going to say one could have said Helen Keller being deaf & blind was the Pinball Wizard, but if the kid saw Rocket Man they'd know it was Elton John.

Thank you, my work here is finished,...I will now retreat into the cloister to watch 900 years of the Dark Ages begin.
Excuse me for a thread hijack — @Hessian , could we have possibly met?
It might have been almost exactly six years ago, in Alexandria, after a Scottish day parade. Outside of the mansion museum in Old Town, you (?) were wearing a uniform of the Hessian mercenaries in employ of the King of England. We had a nice but short talk about that, you thought I speak German from my wide knowledge of the Hessian mercenaries? It was a very nice moment, I still remember that vividly.

Hey UglyBear,...although I have "encamped & Drilled" up in Alexandria, I suspect I KNOW who you met...he faithfully mixes with the public and endlessly tries to recruit new members...thus the "hook" he threw your way. I have not been to a Scottish day parade in two decades...

Awesome!!!!

“A hook”? You mean that your friend was not really impressed with my grenadier stature and fierce look? That Friedrich Der Große would not accept me into his personal guard on the spot and supply unlimited beer and camp followers? (Kicks rocks...)

If you get a chance, please tell your Kamerade that I still fondly remember our talk six years later. Danke!

I’ll just throw this out for your enjoyment
