They're making a half-assed attempt at limiting Cup drivers' participation in the XFINITY Series.

http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-me...t-cup-drivers-xfinity-truck-series-races.html

I guess I can make an attempt to give half a #### about this series next year.
There are two schools of thought on the subject. One being, 'The Cup drivers should be able to race in the XFINITY Series if they want to (for whatever reason(s)). Then there are those fans and XFINITY series competitors alike that don't think Cup Series drivers should be allowed to run a race in "their" series. If you think about it like high school football, it's like a Varsity football player being allowed to play a Junior Varsity game. That isn't allowed.....right?

I know.....apples and oranges.....but the comparison is valid.

I guess if I had to vote on the matter, I would vote to limit the Cup drivers in the Xfinity and CWT Series. I'm sure sponsors and many fans will not be happy though.

Didn't even consider the CWT series......guess cuz they're trucks; but think about when Dale Jr. ran a race in a Corvette years ago; can't recall what series it was; but it was a road course.
Jr. somehow or other crashed, or broke something in the fuel system.....the car went up in flames and he received minor burns; something like that; there was in-car video of the fire. This is when he asked 'who pulled me out of the car?' After that there was the whole 'Maybe it was Dale Sr.' thing. This of course because Sr. had left us by this time. NASCAR himmed and hawd abut Cup drivers racing in other series big time after that.....for a while.

I went to the most recent Xfinity race in Richmond. It was kinda boring to watch Kyle lap the field, but that was probably more the car than Kyle's driving. Brad was driving the 22 that night and wasn't near as good as Kyle. I'm sure that either Erik Jones or Daniel Suarze would have won the race driving that car.

Would I have rather attended the Sunday race and see all the Cup drivers... sure, but the Saturday night Xfinity race was a much cheaper alternative. Plus we got to cheer on local driver Timmy Hill.

Well, it was still fun, right? That's what counts. Myself, I used to want to go to an NHRA Mello Yello event; but that's when Dad was with us; not so much now.

It sure was fun. There's just something about being at the track. And you can take your own beer.

Both series should agree to a demolition derby to determine the winner.
