How do I go about getting my son's birth certificate? We thought the hospital took care of that, but apparently not.
Actually, they don't. What you get in the mail is a Birth Registration Card. It is different from a Birth Certificate. It does tell you that there is a Certificate on file and what the file number is and for many things, it is sufficient. You can get the kids in school around here, but probably not if you move out of state. You can't get a passport or a driver's license with it.Civista does take care of Birth certs but watch out for errors! Iassume you called the hospital about it? Good luck!
Thanks everyone. I got it yesterday at the Calvert Health Dept. However, now we have to contact someone in Baltimore because my husband's name is incorrect on it (his name is so long that one letter is left off )
You got the number? Let me know what they say. Princess's name is long enough that they left the last 4 letters off.
