i posted earlier last week about an air conditioning company, well come to find out mine had a leak caused water damage (my claims adjuster said about a 3ft x 5ft area) it has some mold and rot :yikes: i will need to have that replaced before i can get the new air conditioner.

if anyone has any idea of price or knows anyone who could help me get this taken care of it i would love ya to pieces :huggy:

of course this is not covered under my h/o policy.... that would be to easy. the adjuster said it looks to be the sub floor linoleum and with out pulling it up is not sure if the floor joists could be damaged as well....why why why :bonk:

I think she just needs the sub-floor and tile replaced. She doesn't need an HVAC person to do that.

Would you need to move the a/c in order to get to the floor? If not start ripping stuff out til you see what is going on. Then replace the wood. Get some one to come out and lay linoleum.

no i don't think that i would need to have the airconditioner moved first to have that spot replaced. i think what happened is there is a pvc pipe coming out of the airconditioner to help drain condensation and it came undone and leaked onto the floor causing the damage.

i had hancock come out and they will be replacing the air system but they said i should have someone replace the flooring first. it is not the whole floor just a small chunk. but i am not sure if the whole thing needs to be replaced or can they just replace that small section?

Make sure you get several estimates and check for their MHIC license. That being said, small sections of your subfloor can be replaced and have each contractor show you the area to be replaced.
