Help.. what are these?

I dont know what either of these are.. but I am excited..Would anyone happen to know what these are?

Those last 4 pictures- I dont know what the plants are.. if anyone can help me.. I would appreciate it! The very last pic is an up close shot of the plant above it.

I was given them (2 seperate plants actually, one isnt fairing so well)- and they didnt have one of those tags in them. But they are so bright and pretty!

Picture #2 is a weed called lamb's quarter. Pull it.

Picture #3 looks like some sort of tree. I would pull it, too.

My guess is that the tree is a Japanese Maple.

The other one does look like a weed.. But I'll look somewhere else... You never know when something will sprout that turns out to be lovely.
