I'd like to buy a domain name, but I don't know what the best way to do that would be. Anyone have any advice? I went to one site yesterday, but it was difficult to understand. :jameo:

i purchased my domain name through ns.com . it was pretty easy. however, i have several friends that have used Go Daddy and are very pleased with that site and the service they have received.

If you buy through godaddy, godaddy actually owns the domain. You cannot transfer it. That is the way it works with many domain resellers. They are cheaper, but you are only "renting" from them.

If you want to own the domain, go to networksolutions.com . They offer hosting packages, too, that include a free domain name. Or you can purchase the domain name straight up. Search to see if it is available here. http://www.networksolutions.com/domain-name-registration/index.jsp

I was going to suggest networksolutions also.
I own 4 domains and all of them have been purchased through them.
I have no complaints.

I have 8 purchased through them and I use their DNS for the non dynamic ones. Some I own are for clients who, guess what, don't own their own domain. I'm a very little godaddy. :lmao:
