Help with finding connector

I have acquired a Pyle video monitor. I believe it to be LCD/TFT...with a 5.6 inch screen. The model number is PLVW5.6M I want to be able to hook the thing up to my car stereo. The audio and power is no problem. But this is:

Here is my problem:

The video connector looks, at first glance, to be S-video, but weirdly is not. Very simliar though. It is also a male connector.

I looked at the Pyle website with no luck and even called them, but just got put on hold for 15 minutes and when I did connect through I got some dude's voicemail.

Ive been to Radioshack and they confirmed my fears that it is a one-off factory style connector they have never seen. I figured this...and hoped they would have some clue, but none. I've also been on the radioshack website just to make sure those guys werent idiots...

I just need an adaptor for this thing. I don't care if its RCA, RF, or whatever...as long as it can connect this thing to any common style connector.

I have taken the thing apart. But with no schematics, its useless for me to try to run a new cable.

Any suggestions other than trashing the thing and buying a new kit for like 150 bucks?

you could try to bypass the connector all together.....
aquire the plug for the video in on the head unit.......
cut off tip...
then cit the tip off the plug from the monitor....
splice the wires together,(there should only be 3) inside the shield....
voila......problemb solved, but if you fry something including youself then i am not to blame...

Sorry I wasnt clear earlier. I'm not running the video through the head unit. I want to be able to hook it up to my PS2 or a DVD player. Then run the audio through the audio input on the headunit from either the DVD or PS2. power is self explainatory.

and remember, the cable coming off the video monitor looks like s-video...s-video has more than 3 wires. There are 6 pins inside the connector on this cable.

6 pins? doesn't match up with the manual... mmm

on the good side, it got a good rating for picture quality :)

yep 6 pins....its been taken apart before, so i wouldnt totally rule out that someone has messed with it. what's also weird is that the video is a male connector....TV's have female S-video inputs.....and that the power connector is a female.....most devices are male.....weird....

what manual are you looking at? i tried to download one off their site and a message came up saying it would have to be mailed to me.

if there is no simple fix to this thing i think i'm just gonna try to ebay it...i already got another TFT screen I bought specifically for the PS2 that i can make a mounting base for in the car.
