Help with purple deadnettle weeds

These weeds are all over our garden beds and are starting to spread into our grass. I've been busy pulling them out but it looks like I've barely made a dent. Someone mentioned that I'm wasting my time pulling them. He said that I should just use weed killer, lay down landscape fabric, then mulch the garden beds. I thought I would need to get rid of them first, then put the landscape fabric down.

- Will that be enough to kill them?
- What is the best weed killer for purple deadnettle? There are so many options out there and I want to buy the best one.

TIA!

Fabric works well, lasts a few years then needs to be replaced.

Spot use Round Up carefully on them, and once there gone, retreat periodically with liquid 2-4-d, if any more weeds pop up...........:yay:

Thanks, Toppick! So the guy I spoke with was correct in saying I don't have to pull anymore of them, just spray them? That'll make things a lot easier. I'll be running out to the store today to stock up on a lot of Round Up and some 2-4-d.
