Help with some directions, please.

If you're traveling on Indian Head Highway (south), make a left-turn on Berry Road (route 228) and make a right on Bensville, you come to the traffic light (4-way stop) at Billingsley - where will it lead me if I go straight? I heard there are a few backroads from there to St. Mary's (Mechanicsville/Budds Creek area maybe). I'm not talking about Route 6 though.

Anyone have an idea(s)?

Ok stay with me here.

1) Go past 3 McDonald's.

2) Turn left on Chickory Ln.

3) You'll see a man named Curly, don't talk to Curly.

4) Stop at the flashing lights.

5) Wala! You're there.

After the 4-way stop at Billingsley, go straight for 2.3 miles, you'll see a double-wide on the right, pull in and ask Rodd.

If Rodd ain't there, continue straight for 1.2 miles until you come to the railroad tracks, take your first left. When you see Buddy on his John Deere, ask him.

Just be careful. Those back roads can be confusing if it's your 1st time on them, especially at night.

I lived in Waldorf, specifically the surrounding area I'm talking about. However, I don't ever rememeber traveling that direction. I know every other road like the back of my hand. :yay:

I believe it takes you down towards Indian Head. If you get to my brother's house stop and ask him. Why not turn on Billingsley? It will bring you out on Rt.5 below Waldorf before you get to 488.

I want to bypass Waldorf, White Plains, La Plata, etc. I thought I could take back roads to either Rt. 6 or Budds Creek.

Yes, I am sure you can.
- Stay on Rt 229 (Bensville Rd) thru Billingsley Rd.
- Come to Rt 227 (Marshall Corner Rd).. I am not sure if you will keep going straight or come to a 'T' and make right to continue onto Rt 227.
- Rt 227 Marshall Corner Rd becomes Rosehill Rd after you go across Rt 225 (Hawthorne Rd) .. you will get to Rt 6 (Port Tobacco Rd)
- Make left to reach Rt 301

Yes you will come to a T and would make a right onto Rt 227, and follow the rest as SeaRide wrote. Once you make a right on Rt 6 in Port Tobacco there is a little street to your left you could turn on (lot of sharp turns), and that will bring you out in bel alton near the jude house. Hopefully that helps you some.
