Help with tv repair

We have 2 RCA 42" LCD tv's that are both saying unusable signal. Of course they are both out of warranty. We had the 1st one have it happen when it was still under warranty, and took it to a shop in fredericksburg. I am pretty sure that it was a fuse that was the issue. The second one has done it now, along with the 1st one that has done it again. Both tv's were bought at the same time and are out of warranty, wondering if someone knows a good repair service to fix that isn't ridiculously expensive. We use to go with vid-tec but have not been able to get in touch with him.

You can always look online at the manufacturer's website for repair places in your area. Sears has their own repair people who will come out to your home but they aren't cheap.

DO NOT take it to Marks tv repair.

i used LaPlata TV & Appliance for repairs over the years on two separate TV's. Never had any problems with their work.

Apparently based on what I found on the internet this is a common problem with some RCA tv's and it needs to have a stronger fuse. When the second tv did it, you could hook it up through rca jacks and the component setting on the tv and it would still work and then that stopped too.

we took ours to the one in Fredericksburg also. We have a Magnavox and they were the closest approved shop for us.

Do you remember the name? I thought I had saved the receipt from when they fixed it, but cannot find it.

Fredericksburg tv repair, or Fredericksburg Electronics. Something simple like that. Just a little rat nest of a place but the people were nice.

Yes that's the way I remember it to, and pay attention or you can drive by the building it was in.
I know it’s a fuse that is causing the problem, apparently RCA sent out a service bulletin that is about the problem we are having, in 2008, but yet when we took our TV in they chose not to replace it with the newer fuse but put the older fuse in, so now of course it's not covered with the warranty for either TV.
