I unplugged my digital cable box to move some furniture and now it's displaying 12:00. How do I set the time?

You don't....It will reset itself within an hour or so

Oh....and the channels will display what's on when it resets, too

How long has it been back on? Usually cable boxes will reset themselves after they have been powered back up. It may take a short while.

Unfortunately it's stuck at 12:00 and isn't moving forward in time. It's been about 10 mins or so.

Cool - I'll wait it out and come crying if it doesn't fix itself soon. Thanks! :yay:

My reliable :sarcasm: Comcast cable went out about an hour ago, and when I called customer nonservice I get a "too many calls, sorry" automated message. Is anyone in Chesapeake/North Beach area having problems with their cable? TIA

You can never reset it. You are stuck until you cancel cable or the box dies.

Really...it's no different than having the time constantly flashing 12:00 on the front of the VCR for years on end. Put a piece of tape over it and you won't have to worry about it again.

You might also try turning things on and changing the channel. That might force it to pick up the time from the cable feed.

I'd do that except the box apparently coordinates with the program menu or something because it won't show me what's on TV when I press the Guide button.

Modern technology :jameo:

No, I just didn't see your post, between the cable stupidity and trying to figure out what black actress with dimples Cowgirl is thinking of.

Mine has been out too for awhile.I'm in the Lusby area. I called the cable company and got a messege of what 'area codes' the service is experiencing difficulties. Funny because my internet is through the same company and it's still up. It's only my 3 T.V.'s that are down.
Vrai, if you still have a problem after awhile, call the cable company. Make them earn their money somehow :lmao:

Mine has been out since 8-ish, after I sat my fat *ss down to watch a show that had been premiered all day, got the same useless automated message from Comcast. **CONSPIRACY THEORY**** Comcast Office Picnic/Party? Doesn't take them 4 hours to fix the TV when the internet works fine.

Go figure. I am going to harass them and demand a credit.
