AS a previous REDSKINS FAN, since about 1966, (but now couldn't care less due to recent NFL antics), i'm scratching my head over the new mascot.
Can you more enlightened folks explain the connection between the new mascot, "Major Tutti Fruity Swine", whatever, to a Commander??? Yeah, I remember the "Hogs", best line at that time... a better wall than the Great Wall of China.
But this Lizzo porky pig as a Commander??? huh?? Does it stutter? "a bi a bi big big for for for four three line"...
Symbolic of warshington?? piggies with their piggy wives? (Beatles song for you youngsters)
Why not a Confederate colonel that lays down and surrenders to a better POC team???

Okay, I'm done....

It's not even a tough looking pig - it's a wussy Wilbur pig with a big friendly grin.

Sure to instill fear in the opponent....

My hubby was a diehard Redskins fan for many years, but no more. When the kneeling started and now the name change he is done. He'd rather see Dallas win if they are playing them.

I gave up following the NFL when the kneeling started. I get a lot more accomplished now that I'm not glued to the TV on Sundays. They have a right to protest, but I'm not going to be one to ignore their ignorance. If it weren't for organized sports, we'd have a lot more criminals running loose.

In my view, the NFL is packed with criminal running loose.

I basically lost interest in all pro sports entertainment in the early 80's.
That was likely due to my heavy participation in pre-1600 historic re-creation.
Have no desire to become a viewer again.

I can explain the connection that should help you understand...
Since the eradication of the Redskins by the Commanders...
Nobody gives a chit what they want for a Mascot...Me personally, I voted for it to be Mr. Hankey, with the clear explanation that...nobody really cares about this team...

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

The original "Hogs" are suing the Commanders over this new mascot.

I was gonna mention that myself. Pretty sure The Hogettes are themselves are trademarked and copyrighted in name and appearance. Even their bobble-heads, representing each Hogette are copyrighted and trademarked. And the funny part of these bobble-heads? Is nowhere does it mention the Redskins.

Having Fun!
I lost faith in the NFL as an organization after watching that video of the Ravens player dragging his girlfriend out of the elevator by her foot - hell of an example that set for my elementary school students!

I'm sure y'all know that you can take the girl outta Pittsburgh but you can't take the Pittsburgh outta the girl, right? I was a diehard Steelers fan (since my youth with Terry Bradshaw & Mean Joe Green, etc.) until the game where the entire Team stayed in the locker room for the National Anthem, leaving their one military-serving teammate standing outside alone. That did it for me! I haven't watched a game since, or had anything to do with the Steelers, let alone anything NFL related.

I switched to being a hockey fan. The Penguins have a ton more class.
