Bankman-Fried and another FTX executive gave the vast majority of donations received by a group that gave exclusively to Democrats

Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, was a major contributor to Democratic candidates during the midterm election cycle, funneling most of his donations through a little-known political action committee (PAC).

Overall, in 2021 and 2022, Bankman-Fried donated approximately $38 million to various candidates and PACs, mainly giving his cash to Democratic candidates and left-wing groups, according to Federal Election Commission filings (FEC). The majority of his political givings, though, went to the Protect Our Future PAC, a group founded in January that is dedicated to boosting candidates committed to preventing future pandemics.

Forbes reported :

Since July, Bankman-Fried has made $5,800 contributions, the maximum individuals can give directly to Congressional campaigns, to the committees of Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Richard Burr, the North Carolina Republican who announced plans to retire at the end of his term in 2023.

As previously reported, Bankman-Fried’s balance sheet contained an asset worth over $7 million called “TrumpLose.”

CEO of Citadel Ken Griffin, has also taken a look at the FTX’s balance sheet and pointed out Sam Bankman-Fried’s “TRUMPLOSE” investment coupled with being the second largest Democrat donor was “ugly.”

It does seem to me though - when you begin splitting up the totals to the different candidates, they don't seem exorbitant on a case by case level. We had Senate races in Ohio and Georgia that got MILLIONS. This is a grand total of what, 38 million? Didn't we HAVE single campaigns with donations already in the several millions?
