Heard on Kim Kommando this morning:

Two cops in (I forget where they were) would pull over women for some piddly thing. They'd ask them for their phone so they could get their DL and insurance information, then rifle the phone for nude pix or video, which they would then text to themselves and sell on the internet.

🤔

Apparently they were successful many times before they got busted.

🤔 🤔

Am I the only Luddite who keeps their DL in their wallet, and insurance/registration in the glove box? Why would you have that on your phone, considering how many people lose/break their phones all the time? Has a cop ever asked to see your phone after a traffic stop? I'd be curious how many people they tried with before they hit on someone who fell for it. That seems like the stupidest thing to me.

I have both digital and physical copies. Cops in MD won't accept digital DL though. Only airports as far as I know.

I will mention that it's possible to be against dirty cops and support the good ones. Not liking bad cops does not maker you a hater of police.

When Kim was telling the story she sounded skeptical that someone would have their DL/ins/registration on their phone. It has since come to my attention that all the cool kids are doing that. I had no idea.

Am I the only one who thinks that's a terrible idea?

Also am I the only one who doesn't have nudie pics and videos on my phone?

I feel so old right now...

I have nothing to hide but no cop is getting my phone without a warrant. I do have personal info but nothing illegal or incriminating .

Donut Operator, a former cop himself, covered this on his youtube channel.

Body camera video shows an Oklahoma City police officer forcefully taking down and handcuffing a 71-year-old driver after a traffic stop last month.

The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries, and the officer was placed on administrative leave, police said about the Oct. 27 stop.

Body camera video released by police shows an officer, whom police have not publicly identified, stopping a driver for an illegal U-turn after a minor accident.

“There was a use of force, and an elderly man sustained serious injuries that required hospitalization," police said in a statement. "An investigation was immediately initiated, and the officer was placed on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation."

The incident will be presented to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office soon, as police are dedicated to transparency and accountability, the statement said.
