Hey cat people

I wanna be a SMIB
So yesterday my cat Elvis was just fine, today I wake up and he is sick. All he did was lay around all day , quite lathargic. Upon a closer look, I see he is dripping clear liquid from his behind. So off to the doctor we go. 2 hrs and 150.00 later, no real diagnose. Vet even loked it up and came back with nothing. Stool sample was neg. She gave me inflammatory/antibiotic for him and sent us home. Said keep a close eye out. Anyone here ever had something like this or hear of anything like this. Only symptom is lathargic and clear butt ooze. Help.

Don't know how it would cause clear ooze but it can cause a blockage.

thats just it, the doctor had never heard of this and looked it up in a vet book and came back with nothing. Elvis is resting comfortably right now, sleeping. But I dont think Ill get much sleep tonight. His diagnosis was nothing more than speculation. They think because this liquid is coming from his butt, it MIGHT be colon related. So thats where the inflamatory antibiotic comes in. No one has ever heard of this it seems.

I don't know how the doc can say he's never heard of it. Hell, I googled "cat anus clear fluid" and came back with about 400,000 hits.

Our cat Murray, started doing that one night. He kept going in the box and trying to go, and all would come out was clear liquid. Me and my mom freaked and thought he was backed up or ate something he shouldn't have. So we took him to Tidewater the very next day, and they said he had a severe case of diahreha(sp). So they put him on a fiber food, and gave him a shot of anti-biotic. He was very lethargic, and wouldn't eat. Then within a day or two he had this huge wound on his hind leg, right by his butt. It looked terrible, like something was eating it away. So vet visit number two, they said it was a spider bite. Possibly from a brown recluse. They gave him another anibiotic shot and within a couple days, the would healed up, and he's been fine ever since. The vet also said they had never seen something so severe. I don't know if I ever really believed that it was a spider bite. Regardless, we searched our house high and low, looking for the spiders. I had a hard time getting to sleep that night.

Well, thats something I will watch for. He is resting right now, he went outside 3 times today for about 10 min and at one point he chased a bird. I am watching him very carefully for any changes.
