Hey Catt (or whoever might know the answer)

What can cause a dog’s face to twitch constantly? I saw a rot today and it was acting like it ate a peanut butter sandwich. I yelled for him to go lay down and he walked around to the back of the house and plopped down. His face was still twitching. It was the strangest thing I’ve ever seen.

Allergies, irritation in his poor widdle muzzle, ate a toad or something that wasn't meant for ingestion, or a seizure?

Some type of epilespsy

Are you sure he wasn't winking at you? :cheesy:

Well, at first I thought he was going to eat me and he was just showing me his teeth. I never heard him growl, he just kept grinning sorta and showing me his teeth. What seemed strange is when he plopped down behind the house, he was still doing it. It just made me wonder if dogs get palsy. The person I was with thought it was rabies.

He was smiling at you!

Years ago this dog used to show up at my deck door. It was ugly and it had mange or some skin disease that made it's fur bare in places. Anyway, the dog was very friendly and he/she used to do what you're describing. It was so funny and strange to see. I finally realized it was actually smiling because it would stop and then do it again when you talked to it or fed it cookies.

That's the only dog I've even seen do that.

EXACTLY....but they don't usually continue to "twitch" after they smile, (and not all of them smile either) that was weird.
