Hey Guy in the Black truck heading for the F.D.

While I know you were in a hurry to get to the fire department to get out on a call, it was really stupid of you in you big black truck with the flashers on to be cutting people off and racing like a friggin idiot south on 235 at about 4:30 p.m. between Old Rolling Road and Chancellor's Run. You almost caused about 4 accidents and you are an idiot. I'll be calling the Fire Department tomorrow to report your stupid azz. You nearly rear-ended me and then cut me off and I had to slam on the brakes. Good job. I hope you weren't friggin driving a fire truck once you got there.

That would be Hollywood. They weren't even first due. That would have been great if he'd caused an accident that prevented his company from making it to a real fire.

Don't you know that it's the coolest thing to be in a volunteer FD or EMT!
They act as if they are some elite club or something.
I was at WAWA a few weeks back when a group of em were in there ordering sandwiches or something, I just had to laugh at em

This guy was way out of control. He scared the crap out of me and several other drivers. Someone needs to tell him we can't see his hazard flashers when he is coming up behind us at 70 mph. I'm pretty calm when it comes to driving and will change lanes for an azzhole, but this guy was out of control.

Well...they are volunteering to save lives, to save houses from burning down, rescue people out of mangled up vehicles, etc. I would say they are pretty special people.
(not to drive crazy, I'm not saying that)

Some day your house will catch on fire or you'll have a heart attack. Then you'll be singing a different tune.

I give them props they got balls to run into a burning house or stand on the side of the road at an accident scene with cars flying by. BUt il agree with bs gal they could give more warning, cause theyve scared me a few times up in calvert trying to get to the SLFD and its only a 2lane road, at least 235 has more lanes.

I have had that happen twice, as well. One near where you mentioned and one near Valley Lee. I love my emts/paramedics/fireman (heck, was an emt at one point in FL), but the manner in which a select few volunteers race to the firehouse is frightening. The Valley Lee incident ran me off the road a bit. Not exactly helping anybody out by causing more accidents. lol

I'm an EMT too and used to run some at MVRS and there were times I was in the back of the ambulance scared to death. Especially the young drivers will drive so fast to get to the scene. Its really ashame because we have actually lost members that way. :bonk:

I will say however, that when a patient is in the back, the driving is more reasonable.

When I went to the ER the night my back finally went and caused me to dent the hardwood floor with my head, the driver hit every damn pothole on the way to the hospital.
when we got there, he says to me, sorry about that bump pulling in here, the guy that was in the back with me looks at him and says,, the bump coming in here? were you not with us for the rest of the ride?

even in pain, I had to laugh at that one.

Are you still a current member at MVRS? can you provide any other insight or inside information about that particular rescue squad?, just curious. :coffee:

Just my humble opinion...

When lying in an upside-down MG at the bottom of a ravine in a thunder storm (no, I wasn't driving) I thanked God for the people who raced out there to save my life. Of course they should be cautious on the roads, this is directed at the idiot who cracks on them for their "clique". Why don't you get your useless azz out there and help somebody?

I agree. Deadly traffic accidents is a small price to pay for rednecks wanting to pretend to be firemen.

Ok, Ok. Info only. The paramedics, EMTs and firefighters in this county take the EXACT same training as the paid folks do. As a matter of fact, when I sat side by side with the paid guys in Medic class, we from St. Mary's had a better pass rate. As far as the drivng goes, he was an idiot. We are supposed to obey all laws and use due regard and caution. Even the hazzards are illegal, although the chiefs and asst. chiefs have red lights that they can display, but also have to obey all laws.

I wasn't bashing them either. I think they are terrific. They got my cat out of a tree once. I was just a bit overwhelmed by the way the guy was driving. He was close to causing more than one accident.
