I'm not a devoutly religious person but doesn't God also say that he helps those who help themselves? The people admitted that without surgery it couldn't be fixed by man and since prayers didn't work, fix the underbite with surgery. Who knows, maybe if they fixed it and showed the dog again, he might just sweep the competition.
Maybe God won't "heal" their dog because he realized that the owners are trying to deceive people by pretending their dog with bad genetics is actually a quality breeding dog.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize they were trying to sell him or breed him. In that case, I agree with you.
I thought they were trying to SHOW him.
I don't understand why they would pray to have an underbite corrected if it doesn't cause him health issues?
They should just love the mutt, underbit and all; seems a bit vain in my opinion.
It's still wrong to show him like that. What if they get it corrected and he becomes a champion? They'll be able to brag that they bred a champion? They could say his parents produced a champion? They'll use that to try to sell pups. People might breed to his dogs thinking they're getting good bloodlines. It's false. A good breeder would NOT try to show a dog with a genetic deformity. They could either keep him or sell him as a pet quality pup.
I wasn't saying it was right. I agree with you but what stood out the most for me was that these people expect God to heal their dog instead of changing the path or expectation for the dog.
