Got a question for ya. Horses bray, cows moo, chickens cluck, roosters crow, goats go baa, dogs bark, cats meow, birds chirp, Wee oinks or snorts, geese honk, ducks quack, snakes hiss, bees hum, crows crow, bears growl, frogs croak but what does a llama do. I know they spit, but I've never heard one say anything. Can you phonetically describe the sound they make? I need to know in case I'm in the woods some day and hear a noise I need to identify. :lmao:

Depends on how good a spitter they are.

Now that response just hit my funny bone and I laughed out loud, which doesn't happen often. OK, how far can they spit and be somewhat accurate? Think I may just have to wear a hoody while in the woods now in case I run into one of them. Won't be much fun in the summer but one never knows.

Jazz is rigth they hummm..when they first have a baby they hum to it for several days non stop so the baby knows the mothers voice..I hum to all of mine and they all come running to it..

They spit when Mad...not associated with humming though...

They "laugh" real load sounds like a human as their warning call when something is in the field..like a dog..

Funny story..this summer two got out..my daughter chased them all over with teh 4 wheeler trying to get them in..I got home..opened the truck door and hummed they came running I opened the gate and they went right in..

I'm practicing my humming as we speak. Does it matter what tune you hum? I'm just being silly but in all honesty I am interested. I saw you're video of one chasing an turtle out of the pen a while ago, so was it laughing then? I love all animals, just don't have any.

They hum...seriously. Usually right before they spit. :lmao:

After hearing from the expert, I suggest you also take up humming. That way both you and the animal could hum together and one of you might not get spit on. But if the animal follows you after humming at it I still suggest climbing a tree - you never can tell what might be on their minds. :lmao:
