Charles Co. High school graduations set for May 30, May 31 and June 1

Graduation ceremonies for high school seniors in the Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Class of 2019 are planned for May 30, May 31 and June 1 at the CCPS Convocation Center located at North Point High School in Waldorf.

The ceremony for North Point is Thursday, May 30. Ceremonies for St. Charles, La Plata and Thomas Stone high schools are Friday, May 31. Seniors from Westlake, Henry E. Lackey and Maurice J. McDonough high schools graduate on Saturday, June 1.

North Point’s ceremony is set for 7 p.m. May 30. North Point is closed May 30 for all students to accommodate graduation activities and anticipated traffic on school grounds. All high schools, as well as William A. Diggs Elementary and Theodore G. Davis Middle schools, are closed for students Friday, May 31 to accommodate graduation ceremonies.

The schedule for May 31 is

  • Charles, 9 a.m.;
  • La Plata, 2 p.m.; and
  • Stone, 7 p.m.

The schedule for June 1 is

  • Westlake, 9 a.m.;
  • Lackey, 2 p.m.; and
  • McDonough, 7 p.m.

The childcare center at North Point is closed May 30 and May 31. Students who utilize bus transportation to the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center from North Point will be excused from class May 30. These students can also secure alternate transportation and attend classes at Stethem on May 30. The Stethem Center is closed May 31 for all students.

Graduation ceremonies will stream live on the CCPS website, www.ccboe.com. The Convocation Center is located at 2500 Davis Road, Waldorf, MD 20603. Questions about a specific school’s planned graduation activities should be directed to the school.
