High speed boat / helicopter chase

Trooper 2 and Coast Guard Boat 272006 (I think) were / are involved in a high speed boat chase on the Bay. A large 'cigarette' boat with 3 passengers just flew by the house, followed by Trooper 2 which began an orbit around the boat. Considerable chatter on the Marine Band calling in Coast Guard and DNR boats to the location (outside of Chesapeake Beach).

There were calls from the Trooper confirming 'nothing has been thrown overboard that we can see.' Not sure what is going on to be honest.

Plans are to secure the personnel and craft and bring them into the Navy pier at Chesapeake Beach. Will know more soon I guess.

Check your scanner. You should have the ability to do a range search usually they have a preprogramed search range set up for the marine freqs.

Cove Point LNG Terminal is putting out general notices to marines about some comnes set up outside of their area. I suspect what ever was going on was related to some training drill at Cove Point.

COTHEN is silent. These are not drug runners

I hit search now I see channel 16, Marine Band, please what's the next step?

Update: 2:20

Two Coast Guard 25-foot patrol boats escoted the vessel into the Chesapeake Beach Navy pier where it was met by a DNR police officer. The men were taken off the boat and the Coast Guard guys were searching the boat.

I'll have some pics up shortly.
