Oh. Welcome to my life. The most windy season ever. It just never stops. Cold is one thing. Wind is awful.
Nothing here.Just stepped out to get the mail, very light flurries.
I sense another Weather Channel show... Heavy Rescue Piney Point. We spent yesterday late afternoon and evening rigging out a large service truck with a dump trailer loaded with a cord of firewood. The driver pulled in to the very restricted narrow drive of our neighbor...a drive that hadn't been touched or driven on since the snow storm. It was sheet ice and the truck slid sideways off the crowned narrow drive and came to rest against a large tree, completely "locked out" from moving forward or reverse. We had to winch truck and trailer sideways to get it off the tree and squarely back in the center of the driveway. The wood was for us. View attachment 195381 View attachment 195394

Hey..I was not the one that drove the truck and trailer down the wrong driveway. They are lucky the load of wood was for us....would have been quite a challenge for a regular wrecker to move all of that stuff straight sideways to get the truck off the tree without additional body damage. When these warnings are issued, I usually take it with a grain of salt, never as bad as they hype it up to be.
Have to say, it's blowing out there. Gusts to 31, but I know my wind sensor is in a bad place, so it was probably higher. Wouldn't surprise me if the power went out.
Only you, Gilligan.![]()
You obviously need a different colored traffic cone at the end of the driveway. They couldn't see the orange one.Hey..I was not the one that drove the truck and trailer down the wrong driveway. We've had terrible bursts of wind here since daybreak. Being "in the woods" is kind of nerve racking when you can here it coming. When these warnings are issued, I usually take it with a grain of salt, never as bad as they hype it up to be.

I know you know a lot of people and can say you are very lucky to have found a lot of- I'm assuming seasoned- firewood. Facebook is filled with people looking for it and it seems there isn't much out there. We spent yesterday late afternoon and evening rigging out a large service truck with a dump trailer loaded with a cord of firewood. The NW wind direction is buffered from the woods to our NW but the tree tops are rockin'...and the island creek is solid whitecaps, being perfectly aligned with the wind direction. Pic below...taken from my office window. We've had terrible bursts of wind here since daybreak. Being "in the woods" is kind of nerve racking when you can here it coming.
Dude was lucky that someone with a modicum of common sense was there to help them out. I know damn well that was a tricky reposition to pull off. WELL DONE!Hey..I was not the one that drove the truck and trailer down the wrong driveway.
