Democrat stalls Biden nominee over 'anti-Asian' bias for prosecuting alleged Chinese spy: Report

Democratic Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono is slow-walking a Biden judicial nominee over concerns his prosecution of an alleged Chinese spy reflected "anti-Asian" racism, a group of anonymous Senate aids told Fox News.

Casey Arrowood, whom President Joe Biden has nominated to become a U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, prosecuted University of Tennessee professor Anming Hu, who was receiving funds from NASA but allegedly did not disclose his status as a professor at the Beijing University of Technology, according to Fox News.

Federal law bars NASA from using federal funds on projects that collaborate with China or its universities. A judge acquitted Hu after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.

Though the case began as part of the Trump administration's "China Initiative," the Biden DOJ pursued the case after disbanding the wider initiative.

Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn told Fox News that Hirono was the chief barrier to the nomination's advancement while multiple unnamed Senate aides told the publication that the Hawaii Democrat hopes to slow the Senate Judiciary Committee's voting process until the nomination expires at the end of the current session of Congress.

There have to be a few serious people who became Congresswo/men and look around at their colleagues like, WTAF??? At some point you'd have to think American humans are a lost cause because this is who they vote for.

Imagine having Maisie Hirono (or Eric Swalwell, or...my god the list just goes on and on... ) as your co-worker who participates in your company meetings and makes them last for eternity with her stupid questions and objections.

This is why I think Heinlein was onto something with the idea of earned citizenship.

There are too many that don't deserve it.

I don't think I was ever in a meeting where there wasn't at least one Maizie Hirono there.

WTAF!? The woman is JAPANESE, fer gawd's sake!!! WTAF is wrong with her!? She was born in JAPAN, and she's worried about an alleged CHINESE spy!?

Mazie, Mazie, Mazie, it's long past time for your senile old azz to retire. You know the Japanese - you know, your ethnicity - and the Chinese hate one another, right? They still remember Nanking, even if you don't, or you've forgotten. WTAF is wrong with you!?

Mazie Hirono Blames Maui Fire On Climate Change: ‘There Are Whole States’ Where You Can’t Talk About It

USA Today reported last week that “many scientists” say that the culprit behind the quadrupling of fires in Hawaii in recent decades is “unmanaged, nonnative grasslands planted by plantations and ranchers and others unfamiliar with the island’s native ecosystems. The grass is dry and prone to fires.”

“There is no doubt that fire-prone grasses have invaded drier Hawaiian ecosystems and brought larger, more intense fires,” said Peter Vitousek, a professor at Stanford University.

Officials are unsure of what sparked the fires but said that low humidity and high winds — fueled by a Category 4 hurricane south of the islands — greatly contributed to their rapid spread.

There was an extensive report, with action plan, published on that in 2014, which the Hawaiian government ignored for the most part.
